Fellow spellers, judges and audience looked on in a calm horror as the young man's eyes bulged right out of his skull before he teetered to the maraschino red carpet below. And if you were 13 years old and had to spell "alopecoid" on ESPN or whatever channel, wouldn't you lock up, too? The Spellbinder's Lair is not for the young or infirmed.
